|
To work in partnership with the Network Management Team to provide strategic leadership for cancer/palliative care Allied Health Professionals (AHP) across the network. To proactively develop the Allied Health Professional cancer medium and long term objectives; ensuring these are driven by patient experience, priorities of the network, peer review, and the Cancer Reform Strategy. |

Network Pharmacist

To lead the achievement of the oncology pharmacy quality measures for peer review; develop and lead the strategic development of chemotherapy services and ensure equitable quality of services. To lead and monitor clinical governance issues; to provide training and education to primary and secondary care; provide expert opinion on the horizon-scanning of NICE chemotherapy drugs, contributing to National oncology pharmacy developments and preparing the chemotherapy units for the transition to electronic prescribing. |

Consultant in Public Health

To develop a Network-wide Public Health Strategy in line with the Local Awareness and Early Detection Initiative (LAEDI) baseline assessment, and from this to develop an action plan and be instrumental in its implementation. This will include the initiation of projects to further the prevention and early detection of cancer in the community. Also, to initiate the Cancer Awareness Measure (CAM) as part of the National Awareness and Early Detection Initiative (NAEDI). |

Supportive & Palliative Care Project Manager

To project manage the development of a Network-wide strategy/guidelines for enhancing and expanding Supportive and Palliative Care Services across ASWCS. Initially, for adults with cancer, however recently this has been expanded to include all those suffering from a life-threatening/chronic illness irrespective of diagnosis. |

Lead and support the development of cancer patient and public involvement within the ASWCS Network by: supporting the ASWCS Network User Group; integrating patient involvement within cancer centres/units and making cancer information accessible to patients, carers, healthcare professionals and the public. |

To lead and develop robust infrastructures that will support the development of quality patient information and support across the Network. Work closely with the Patient and Public Involvement Manager, and colleagues in the acute, primary care and voluntary sectors to identify the information needs of cancer patients, their families and carers in order to develop equitable provision of information and support across the Network. |
